In 1993, the City of North Charleston Fire
Department recognized the need for a high angle rescue team. Due to the
rapid growth of the city and it's increasing building heights, prompted
the the birth of our first rope team. Battalion Chief Cliff Forner and
Captain Trey Coker tackled the chore of making things work. They along
with other members of the fire department, have attended various
technical rescue classes, expanding the team skills. The City of North
Charleston Technical Rescue Team is proficient in dealing with building
collapse, trench rescue, and Urban Search and Rescue. |
