North Charleston Fire Department hires new Training Chief

Battalion Chief Michael Kyle Minick has been hired by the North Charleston Fire Department as Chief of the Training Division.
Minick, a 12-year-veteran of the Fire Service has served at both the Mount Pleasant Fire Department where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant and at James Island Fire Department, where he held the rank of Deputy Chief.
Minick graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice from University of South Carolina in 1999 and earned a Master of Science in Management from Southern Wesleyan University in 2005. He is also in the second year of
Executive Fire Officer Training Program offered by the National Fire Academy.
Minick desires to continue the forward momentum of the North Charleston Fire Department as a progressive growing department.
Minick and his wife Jennifer have been married seven years and have two children, Brice and Brayden.
