The NCFD Honor Guard was organized in 1993
following the death of one of our own, Captain Roy Adams. The
Brotherhood of Firefighters at the City of North Charleston Fire
Department wanted to show their respect to the fallen brethren in the
fire service by forming the Honor Guard Unit.
Chief Leonard Judge and Captain Anthony
Canty took the reins and handpicked a group of loyal firefighters that
would go above and beyond the call of duty to represent the City of
North Charleston Fire Department. This would involve the Honor Guard
members working many off duty hours drilling for ceremonial procedure
and traveling throughout the area representing the fire department.
The City of North Charleston Fire Department
Honor Guard has participated in the Fallen Firefighters Memorial in
Emmittsburg, Maryland at the National Fire Academy as well as throughout
the State of South Carolina.
