On the behalf of the entire North Charleston Fire Department, welcome to our website.

The North Charleston Fire Department provides excellent fire suppression and protection services to the community from eleven fire stations. The NCFD also responds as First Responders on medical calls. All city firefighters are either first responder or EMT certified and each engine have Automatic External Defibrillators or AED's on board for use on cardiac arrest patients.

Firefighters provide a wide range of special services, such as hazards materials response and confined space, high angle rescue. Fire Prevention and public education are established priorities by the Fire Chief.

Utilizing the Fire and Life Safety and the Building Codes, the Fire Prevention Division provides an inspection program to make our community and environment safer for all residents and business owners. In addition, public fire and life safety education programs are presented year round to both general and select audiences through direct contact, special presentations and media releases.
