The modern day fire service
is more than jumping onto a fire engine and responding with lights
flashing and sirens blaring to put out a fire! Today's fire service is
dedicated to the importance of fire safety and educating the public on
fire prevention. Fighting fires is only one part of today's fire and
rescue service. In addition to fire suppression you will be extensively
trained in automobile extrication, medical first
response and recognition of Hazardous Materials. In addition to these
basic fundamentals, you may train to become a member of one of our
specialized teams such as the
Hazardous Materials Team,
Technical Rescue Team,
or the
Marine Assistance Pact Team.
